A meditation and Dharma study group that is an alternative to the mainstream meditation scene.
The Elm City Dharma Collective came together in June 2007 to help bring a sense of community and sangha to Connecticut, to bring together like minded individuals for a peer meditation/dharma study group, and to support and encourage alternatives to the mainstream meditation scene that has taken root here in the West. This group is inspired by the teachings of Noah Levine and all those who 'go Against the Stream'.

Yoga Class with Kitty 8:15-9:45pm
Join us for a Special Class with Katherine "Kitty" Moore, creator and former director of the Connecticut Yoga Center, the precursor to Your Community Yoga Center. (The reason for her brief visit? Kitty, Laine and I will be attending the Inauguration of a YCYC student, Serene Jones, formerly Professor of Divinity at Yale, now first woman to be President of Union Theological Seminary in NYC in their 172-year history!)
A Juilliard graduate with the voice of an angel, Kitty has taught yoga full-time for over 10 years. Her voice speaks to the individual even in a full class. She has several Iyengar-based certifications including two 200-hour certifications with Patty Townsend (The Center For Yoga, Amhearst) and Kim Valeri (YOGASpirit Studios), and is currently working toward her certification in Para Yoga with yogiraj, Rod Stryker. Perhaps more importantly, she has been the inspiration to start many of us on our yogic paths, to delve more deeply into yoga and to become teachers ourselves!
