Cormac Levenson
.

Cormac Levenson received the precepts in the Soto Zen Tradition. He has lived as a monk at Tassajara and Green Dragon Temples and has practiced meditation for seven years. A graduate of Harvard Divinity School, where he studied Buddhist ministries, Cormac is currently working at Griffin Hospital in Derby, where, in addition to offering pastoral counseling to patients, he teaches meditation to people struggling with substance abuse and mental health issues.

Cormac believes that one of the primary purposes of meditation is slowing down our mind so that our own natural and ever present wisdom and enlightenment can arise. The world is beautiful and well worthy of our attention. May we all wake up from our distractions and stress, even if it is only for moments at a time.
