Julie's teaching emphasizes proper alignment in poses to ensure joint protection and allow freedom of breath and a balance between strength and movement.
Julie has worked as an Occupational Therapist since 1989, helping adults and seniors to achieve maximal strength, movement, balance and endurance to overcome disabilities and live meaningful lives. Upon a doctor's recommendation, Julie began practicing yoga regularly to overcome her chronic back and hip impairments. While initially drawn to yoga for the physical healing benefits, she came to appreciate the inner practices of pranayama and meditation as a means of reducing stress while raising her five children. Julie is now incorporating yoga in her work with home-care patients.
