Lee Barbera

Lee follows the Theravada tradition and finds that following the dharma and meditating is life changing. He embraced the precepts on retreat a year and a half ago and has chosen to continue to live by them. Lee feels that meditation brings tranquility and focus.

A Vietnam veteran in search of tranquility, Lee began meditating in the late 60s. He fell off and later returned, and has been meditating regularly for the last 6 years. Lee has a daily practice, about an hour in the morning and an hour at night. In addition to numerous solo retreats, Lee has sat retreats with Guy Armstrong, Lila Kate Wheeler, Phil Moffit, Tina Rasmussen and her husband Stephen Snyder. Currently he sits regularly with the Veterans Mindfulness Yoga Project, has been sitting with Judd Brewer for over three years and occasionally leads the Insight Meditation Society sangha at Yale. Lee is one of the founders of the Sunday night sangha.
