Tracie DiMaio

Tracie’s yoga journey began in 2004. When she first started, her intention was to lose weight; however, she received much more than her initial weight loss. After watching several tutorial DVD’s, her whole life began to shift into a new found passion. She signed up for a teacher training in 2007 to expand her knowledge and soon after that she taught her first class on her 45th birthday. Her style of yoga is to teach her students in a non competitive and compassionate environment. Tracie teaches her students how to be in their own bodies and to love themselves for what they can do, rather than what they cannot do. Tracie is dedicated to helping her students grow into lifetime Yogis and becoming aware of the powerful mind and body connection.

Tracie is now a 500 hour certified Yoga Therapist Practitioner from Yogaspirit Studios.
Since completing her certification she is able to teach several different styles. She also provides private lessons and special workshops including Yoga Nidra, Yoga For Chronic Pain, and learning about the inner practices of yoga. She has met and studied with some of the more widely known teachers including Kim Valeri, Shiva Rhea, Cindy Lee, Rod Stryker and Gabrielle Bernstein who have all influenced her over the years. She continues her education by attending Kripalu Yoga Center in Lenox, Massachusetts annually as well as Yoga Journal conferences around the Northeast from time to time.

Aside from yoga, Tracie is also a professional Licensed Optician at Eyewear At Willows in Westport, Connecticut. Tracie is married with 3 grown sons and has an 8 year old grandson as well. She enjoys spending time with her family and spiritual retreats because they are both joyful and rejuvenating. Tracie believes life has come full circle after having been diagnosed with Ménière’s Disease. From having severe cases of vertigo, she is able to recognize the gift of yoga to help with her life challenges. Tracie’s empathy for others dealing with any life challenges certainly makes her a more compassionate teacher.
