Taijiquan is an ancient Chinese martial art based on internal energy or "chi". Learn this practice to use its slow flowing and connected movement to integrate the mind and body and generate flexibility, strength, and well-being. This class will consist of seated and standing exercises (Qigong), t'ai-chi walking, traditional taijiquan forms, and Tui Shou, or Push Hands. All are welcome, no experience necessary. Wear comfortable clothes and footwear.
Learn Taijiquan (or T’ai-Chi) at YCYC with Master Teacher Bill Banick. Bill continues to train with top instructors in the U.S. and China and draws on a wide range of styles to guide both his classes and his personal practice. His lineage is Northern Wu Taijiquan and Liu Seong Royal Kung-Fu. Bill’s primary teachers are in the tradition are David Dolbear of Syracuse, NY and Liu Chang-Jiang of Beijing, China. He also earned the Rank of Orange Sash in Liu Seong Royal Kung-Fu.
