MEDITATION IN MOTION, Mon., Sept. 17, 7:30–8:30pm, with Becca Fraser.
This class is an opportunity for students of all levels to deepen their yoga practice. Enhance your feelings of connection to your body, so you can hear and respond to its needs. Each week, Rebecca will guide you through movements, affirmations, and breathing techniques to help you release your inhibitions and gain flexibility, mental clarity, and confidence.
YOGA FLOW, Tues., Sept. 18, 6-7pm, with Thea Bouke-Martin. Deeply influenced by Kripalu Yoga, these classes connecting movement to breath are gently soothing and provide a supportive non-judgemental environment where students can listen to their bodies.
YOGA FOR HEALTHY AGING, Wed., Sept. 19, 10:30am – 11:45am with Julie Luciani. This 10 week series is a gently dynamic Kripalu influenced flow class designed for all ages and body types and uses a chair both for seated postures and as a support while standing. It incorporates yoga postures to develop flexibility, strength, balance and agility, breathing techniques to improve respiratory functioning and mindfulness training for emotional well being and stress reduction.
GENTLE YOGA, Thurs., Sept. 20, 6-7pm, with Christina D’Agostin. Christina's Monday Gentle Yoga class has been so popular that we are adding a second! The focus is on simple postures that connect body, and mind with the gift of relaxation. This yoga experience will emphasize breath, beauty, and balance – the perfect way to wind down your body and mind. Added bonus: 1 minute of stretches/mindfulness which you can incorporate into your everyday life!
BEGINNER YOGA, Sat., Sept. 22, 8:30-9:30am, with Kathryn Murray. For those who are just starting out and for those who wish to review proper alignment and form in seated, supine and standing poses. The basic positions of sun salutations will be covered but with little or no flow between poses. Beginner breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditations will also be taught.
