Chakras & Bandhas

Travel on a journey through the energy centers of the body.
For thousands of years yogis have been using simple techniques to access these "wheels of energy" along the spine. By learning to develop these centers you can build power in your asana practice, awaken dormant healing and creative energies, create a state of balance in your physical body and increase your spiritual awareness. Learn to access these Pranic Centers of Transformation and use the bandhas to direct and contain the flow of energy in a dynamic series of yoga asana, pranayama and meditation.

This workshop is for yoga students of all levels.

Reading the Breath to Facilitate Healing
Sunday, April 1, 1:00-3:30 pm

The breath is the link between the physical body
and the subtle energetic body.

What can the breath tell you? A lot! By Learning to read the breath
in your students you can discover which energies are out of balance
and design a simple practice to restore balance.

Be prepared to do some brief journaling and work in pairs and small groups.
You will be introduced to healing breathwork and the principles of the vayus
(the winds of energy in the body). Participation in the Chakras and Bandhas
workshop would be helpful but not necessary.

This workshop is for dedicated students, yoga teachers
& teacher trainees.

Katherine "Kitty" Moore, Founder and Director of the Connecticut Yoga Center upon which Your Community Yoga Center was built. She has been certified by The Houston Yoga Institute, The Center for Yoga and Healing Arts in Amhearst, and YOGAspirit Studios. She has studied with Lex Gilliam, Patty Townsend, Kim Valeri, Alan Finger, John Friend, Manorama, Richard Freeman, and her current teacher Yogiraj Rod Stryker. Her classes are Tantra-based and a deep but playful mix of asana, bandha, kriya, mantra, pranayama and meditation. She practices and teaches Yoga  as a science of self-realization that leads to a joyous life and ultimate freedom. We are delighted to have her back.
