bob tait

Bob Tait, a recent Yoga instructor graduate but a lifelong practitioner of Yoga, comes from a background that includes elementary and nursery school teaching, a little bit of theater (onstage and behind the scenes) and radio work. Formerly from Boise, Idaho, Northern Michigan, and Southern Wisconsin, Bob recently relocated to Hamden to enjoy life with his family and grandchildren and to become part of our Yoga Community. He brings a unique and insightful perspective to our studio.

Having always been open for new experiences, Bob found his learnings and accomplishments along the way to have been truly enriching. Among them a fair share of service work – waiting tables, caddy, newspaper boy, sales (retail and wholesale); designing and building houses; building and assembling machines that make paper (three stories tall and four blocks long); a stint as a fireman, and ten years programming and d’jaying a jazz radio show.

Bob also holds an honors degree in English from a small liberal arts college.

With such a wide-ranging and varied background, he finds the most satisfying undertaking is that of being a father and now a grandfather.  In his words: “For me there is nothing more humbling and gratifying in life, nothing tells me more profoundly how well I have lived, then to see just how well and wonderfully my child now treats her child.  Now that I am certified to teach Yoga I will bring all this to the mat.”
