Linda dreher

Linda’s classes are flow based with creative sequencing and lots of alignment instruction. Keeping things light and fun, she offers modifications and encourages students to listen to their body.

Linda discovered yoga 25 years ago while working on Wall Street. The first few years of her yoga practice were not dissimilar to her career at the time – ego-driven, competitive, and exhausting. It took a serious injury during a yoga class to begin to change the way she looked at her yoga practice.

Slowly, the true nature of yoga and its real benefits began to sink in. She realized that yoga was not just another way to get fit or show off your new leggings, but a path to connect to the body and calm the mind.

At the age of 40, Linda left the hedge fund world to become a yoga teacher. She trained in hatha and vinyasa style yoga and began teaching soon afterwards.

A dream came true when she purchased a yoga studio in Stamford, CT, and for five years built and nurtured a supportive community of teachers and students. Sadly, her studio was unable to weather the pandemic, but with every cloud there is a silver lining. Linda and her husband, John, decided it was finally time to find their forever home. They, along with their parrot, Norton, and tortoise, Maizy, moved to Woodbridge, and from there discovered our yoga center in Hamden.

Living in the country has allowed Linda to reconnect with her love of nature and the woods. In addition to practicing yoga, she is an avid bird watcher, hiker and snowshoer.
